What would you do for $20?

I would eat a slice of rotting pizza...

During a marathon weekend at work, the partner bought us pizza to eat in a conference room.  We are slobs; we never cleaned up.

Three days later, we all met in the same conference room and saw that the pizza was still sitting out.  "Would you give me $100 to eat a slice?"  I jokingly asked.  Then, the same partner who bought the pizza in the first place pulled out a $20 from his wallet and put it down on the table.

Did I hold out for my $100?  Of course not.  I'm no better than 5-year-olds in the  Kids Marshmallow Experiment so I took the offer!  (Also, the night before I had turned down an offer of $20 to swallow a whole mouthful of BBQ sauce).

The pizza looked like this:

But all I saw was this:

I was told I couldn't heat it up and had to eat the entire slice!  So it ended up like this:

Despite tasting pretty gross, I didn't get sick!  And I got $20!  Don't tell HR  :)

Albuquerque: both new and Mexican

This Christmas I was able to cross off the 31st of 49 states I hope to visit (sorry, North Dakota).  New Mexico gave me a lot of new experiences: the longest tram ride in the country, white buffalo, and New Mexican food!

Sandia Peak

The longest tram ride in the country - about 15 min each way - took us up to a 15,000 ft. elevation!  From the top, we could see all the way to Texas!

The ride was beautiful to the top of the mountain (which used to be under water...okay, the water wasn't above 15,000 ft. but the mountain used to be on the sea bed.  New Mexicans like to say it like this so they sound cool).  New Mexico was surprisingly cold - worse than New York - but also dry, so I was very excited that the mountain tops finally had some snow!

Food

Okay, New Mexican food is... Mexican food with chile on top.  EVERYTHING comes with either green or red Chile and you have to specify.  Pretty much every restaurant has giant 2000 calorie plates of tacos, tamales, enchiladas, chile rellenos, cheese, rice, and beans.

Los Cuates - AND the best sopapillas!  It's kind of like a tortilla/donut that you fill with honey.  mmmm....
